SUPERVISION
Dr Giac Giacomantonio supervises Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Counsellors, and Social Workers for general
professional development. Psychotherapists often seek such supervision to learn the techniques for integrating psychoanalytic theory into their professional practices, and to discuss and studying the theory.
Giac has over a decade of experience providing
clinical supervision to professional Psychotherapists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, and Psychology students. Professionals and students interested in learning more about psychoanalytic psychotherapy have sought supervision with Giac.
Giac is a registered supervisor for the
Australian Psychological Society’s College of Clinical Psychologists, and the
Psychology Board of Australia’s Registrar Programme for endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist.
You can
e-mail Giac to discuss the option of psychoanalytic supervision.
For Psychologists
For supervision leading to clinical endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia, you must have general registration as a psychologist and be in suitable clinical practice. You can
e-mail Giac to discuss the option of designing a programme of supervised practice to submit to the Board for approval. Endorsement requires between 1540 and 3080 hours of clinical practice (depending on your qualifications as DPsych/PsyD, MPsych/PhD, or MPsych) and between 40 and 80 hours of supervision accordingly.
For supervision leading to membership of the College of Clinical Psychologists of the Australian Psychological Society, you must be a member of the Society and be in suitable clinical practice. The requirements are largely commensurate with those of the Psychology Board's programme for clinical endorsement. You can
e-mail Giac to discuss the option of designing a programme of supervised practice to submit to the APS for approval. The Clinical College requires between one and two years of full-time equivalent supervised practice for membership, which is equivalent to the number of hours listed above for clinical endorsement via the registrar programme of the Psychology Board.
